This photo is based on a short story called "The Yellow Wallpaper". The story is about a woman who is
supposedly insane and
isolated in a room with awful yellow wallpaper that haunts her and pushes her
farthing into insanity. I modified this photo with different blur tools changing the
opacity's on to layer them on
each other. This created an
uncertainty along this rough edge that draws your eye across the photo. It is upsetting that there is not a crisp edge along the yellow, but
that's because there isn't a crisp edge in insanity. Was the woman in this short story insane before the wallpaper? Or did the wallpaper make her insane?
